Super Stars Literacy will be honoring Oral Lee Brown for her years of dedicated efforts in support of Oakland students, as well as hosting a panel discussion Navigating the Landscape of Public vs Charter Schools During Challenging TimesWhat does the future hold for our community?

With the fiscal crisis Oakland Unified School District currently faces, the district is challenged with a re-design of their community of schools. With a goal of providing a quality school in all neighborhoods, many Oaklanders are left wondering what this all means. The growing presence of charter schools and the controversy that seems to follow will likely prove to further complicate the strategic direction of the district.
