Fun STEM Activities for the Weekend

Science Meets Literacy

Happy Friday Super Stars! We hope you are staying safe and well during this challenging time. Our Group Leaders and office staff miss seeing everyone at our home base on Hegenberger and our school sites. Teaching and learning is the core of our mission, with literacy being the focus, but with school closures due to COVID-19, learning can be extremely difficult. That’s why we are here to help!

Our science experiment at Aspire Monarch Elementary!

STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) holds a special place in Super Stars’ hearts. We value STEM and are always accepting of volunteer groups that aren’t solely based on literacy. Like our UC Berkeley STEM group who regularly volunteered at our schools, we have a passion for teaching our students different avenues of learning. It’s fun, engaging, and could sprout a new love for learning in your child!

The weekend is coming up, so it’s a perfect time to do experiments. Here a list of STEM activities that you can do with you kid at home. These are fun for the whole family, so feel free to learn together and share your stories with us! We plan to share art activities on our next blog, so stay tuned for that.
