Super Stars Literacy, a non-profit organization promoting reading among K-2 students in nine high poverty public schools, is eager to connect with congregations for volunteers, donations, and fundraising. In the past year, St. Stephen’s, Orinda, and St. Anslem’s, Lafayette, were generous donors. Super Stars Literacy works in Oakland, Hayward, and Newark to sponsor in-school and after school tutoring for students, as well as organize family reading nights. Their goal is to help young people enter third grade reading to learn. For further information, please contact Daniel Lawlor.
